I'm a yoga convert.

I've been coming to That Little Yoga Place regularly for the past year.

Yesterday was the first time I enjoyed a twist that I'd always found awkward and frustrating.

My spine is more flexible and I'm more grateful for my body.

Yoga isn't a performance. It is a practice. It's not something to be perfected. Or supposed to look a certain way. It doesn't care where you've been (or whether you can touch your toes).

Nor is there an end goal. It's an ongoing discovery into the landscape of our inner mind. It's an investment. It's showing up for ourselves. A moving meditation

It doesn't need to be complicated. Or fancy. Or painful. It's maintenance of our mind, body & soul. An exploration into our thoughts and our feelings. A check-in with the sensations that arise within.

A gentle self-discovery of where resistance may be found, where stagnation lies within, and what flows with ease. Where we can do less, where we can do more. An acceptance of what is while allowing space for change, for growth.

It's a personal journey that is whatever we need it to be, whenever we need it, wherever it is we are. One that consistently changes and evolves. It's a practice that integrates into our everyday lives and can be found in everything that we do.

Celebrate the Moruya Microforest's 2nd birthday Sunday 18th May 10am - 11am at St Johns (corner of Page and Campbell Streets).

So many community members and businesses have helped along the way - whether it was allowing us to survey rainforest on their rural blocks, donating towards the microforest, growing plants (Moruya TAFE), hosting events (Post and Telegraph), spreading the word or coming and weeding and or watering once a month.

Microforests are as much about building community as planting forests.

Andy from the Nourished Sovereign will be there with his coffee cart and a hand-crafted chocolate cake.

A non-judgmental, confidential, supportive place for women to connect and, if you choose, to share.

Meet Hannah

Hannah can be found on Mondays at 4pm and 5.30pm @thatlittleyogaplace

"Yoga can definitely seem intimidating to those who haven't practiced before. It certainly did to me for a long while, even as many people attempted to get me to 'try it out'.

What I discovered when I started attending yoga classes was that yoga isn't about wearing the latest activewear, or being able to touch your toes, or stand on your head, but rather it is a nurturing practice that has helped me become more... me.

It's taught me to be more gentle and kind with myself, to be less attached to outcomes whilst remaining disciplined in 'doing the things that are needing to be done' and has greatly benefited both my mental and physical health.

I love sharing the practice of yoga with others and the connectedness to myself, the earth and others that yoga helps to generate in my life. I look forward to meeting you at a practice sometime and sharing time and space together. I teach vinyasa flow, gentle slow flow and yin practices and incorporate my love of music through the soundscapes I select and with gentle live serenades during savasana."

There's something about waking up in the mornings with a tingle of excitement in my belly because I get to go out into the world every day and do what I love, with the most incredible humans.

Sharing this amazing practice, practicing alongside you, the energy, creating, learning, the hugs, the sharing of stories, experiences & adventures, the tears, cups of tea/chai/coffee, food, and all of the laughter.

This journey we are on together, whether for a short time, or a while now, occasionally, regularly or every day, you have given me the courage & inspiration to keep on keeping on.

My intention to journal every day vs the ability to do so hasn't changed much over the years.

But I do like to think that my spelling has improved somewhat. (Maybe?)

I have journaled ever since I can remember and there is something I find really therapeutic about getting all the thoughts in my head out onto paper.

Its a nice tool to have to turn to, especially when my head gets super extra busy.

I've been journaling a lot lately.

And every now and then I pull out an old journal and find funny entries like this one written just 2 weeks after my 9th birthday.

It doesn't seem as though my head was too busy then, just busy living life and forgetting to write in the journal.

And for some reason I felt the need to explain.

It's been interesting spending some time lately with little me, reading though my thoughts and feelings from way back then.

Imagine being able to go back in time and visit the younger version of you, give yourself a hug and say hey.

That Little Yoga Place is a down to earth, inclusive, community driven studio located in the heart of Moruya (Yuin Country) offering a dedicated space to move, breathe & connect authentically through the practice of Yoga, Community Circles & Workshops.

You will find a diverse range of mindful movement and stillness practices (7 days a week - every day of the year including all public holidays, Christmas Day & New Years Day).

Along with a wonderful team of dedicated, qualified and experienced teachers to choose from, who all bring something beautifully unique to their classes.

Classes are filled with options, invitations and the opportunity to embark on your own individual journey, practice at your own pace to honor your unique body.

Our mission is to provide a safe, comfortable & inclusive place for everyone to access the benefits of yoga, both on and off the mat.
